Regulatory

It is our objective to meet and surpass all of the regulations that are required of us to ensure the safety of both patients and healthcare providers.

The privacy/security program that we maintain is to identify risk and create actions to eliminate or minimize those risks. Our privacy/security program addresses and includes both a PIA or Privacy Impact Assessment, and a TRA or Threat Risk Assessment, conducted by a governmentally recognized third party, under whose guidance and advice has enabled us to create one of the most thorough programs for today and the future.

In addition, we have worked hard to identify the requirements of the CPSO, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and to understand their assessment processes and procedures. By doing so, we have made several changes within the framework of our product and services to help our clients ensure their compliance is achieved.

Security

The security behind SIMMS begins with where we keep patient information, at 151 Front Street. This building has been recognized not only as the information HUB of Toronto, but as the communication centre for the entire country. The building is complete with all types of security protections, features, functionality, redundancy, fail over mechanisms, and safeguards to provide you with the level of comfort you demand for your patient data.

Included in the SIMMS security protocols are 128 bit encryptions, firewalls, password protections, and selected authorization panels, meaning confidential information is only available to those who should have access to it, and when they should have access to it.
